The "Maharajahs' Express"

This luxury train operates a choice of three itineraries - all 7 or 8 days - visiting some of the most exotic places in India - Mumbai (Bombay), Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Gwalior, Bandhavgarh (for the tigers), Varanasi and Lucknow.

The prices are fully inclusive (apart from international flights) and accommodation ranges from de luxe cabins to the Presidential Suite. Apart from the fascinating places visited with your expert tour director, highlights include fine wining and dining, 24 hour valet service, on-board paramedic just in case, and the chance to meet Indian royalty! There are two restaurants, and two bars on board the train, and of course no long drives or tiring internal flights as the train arrives into the city of the day, and no packing/unpacking each day!

Wilhelm Tell Express – This is a cruise and a train which links two of Switzerland’s most attractive regions: central Switzerland with its high mountains and the Italian speaking Canton of Ticino in the warm south of the country. The trip starts in Luzern aboard a magnificently restored paddle steamer for a three and a half hour trip across the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne) to Flüelen. A short walk takes you to the station and you board an air conditioned express (panoramic coach in first class) for the trip along the ever-narrowing Reuss valley until you meet the solid wall of mountain through which you burrow in the fifteen kilometre Gotthard tunnel. The drop on the other side is just as spectacular: there are numerous spiral tunnels and yet more tunnels as you descend into the valley, a true masterpiece of civil engineering. Your final destination can be either Lugano or Locarno.

Danube Hydrofoils – these operate between Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest along the Donau (Danube), only blue if you’re in love! The trip offers a much more scenic route between these capital cities than the train affords the flat Hungarian plains. Check in at least one hour before departure. On board services include a buffet. Why not travel one way by train and one way by hydrofoil?
